Being a Dad: Finding Memory

 Hello and Welcome Home!

Holidays come and holidays go. They bring special memories that make being a dad every bit, a blessing. These memories come in all different shapes and sizes too. This year was a very strange one indeed for many of us dads, but the memories are still there.

Being a Dad: Surviving Christmas (The Snowman)

Hello and Welcome Home,

You may be thinking, “why on earth is he talking about a snowman?” Well, there is a good reason and it is also a pretty straightforward message that comes with the snowman and how being a dad connects to that snowman.

Being a Dad: Surviving Christmas (A Christmas Flower)

Hello and Welcome Home!

Okay, today’s a great day to write about the other ‘not so dad-like’ symbol of Christmas. The Poinsettia is a very special flower to many during the Christmas Season. The question I've wondered for years is, why?’

Being a Dad: Surviving Christmas (The Ho

Hello and Welcome Home,

I know what you’re thinking. “What in the world does this have to do with being a dad and surviving Christmas.” Well, I’m glad you asked. Have you ever heard of creating a toxic reaction?

Being a Dad: Surviving Christmas (The Christmas Wreath)

 Hello and Welcome Home,

Christmas Wreaths are something special...

Much like the Christmas Tree, the wreath was historically made from the evergreen tree as well, meaning that the wreath could mean something similar. While this is partially true, the deeper meaning comes from the way the wreath is created.

Being a Dad: The Cup Run's Dry!

 Hello and Welcome Home!

Being a dad comes even in moments of struggle. To be honest, the last few months have been a struggle for me.  The world is changing more every day. The fear of sickness and political battles are more prevalent in today's world than I ever really thought they would. There is always a silver lining though.

Being a Dad: A Hard Realization P1

Hello and Welcome Home!

Its been a while since I last posted an update. Truthfully, I haven't really had a lot of motivation to write. Sometimes Being a Dad just isn't easy. There is so much stuff we have to take care of day in and day out. We really never have time for ourselves.

Being a Dad that Embrace's Chaos

Hello and Welcome Home!

Have you ever thought about what being a dad in the midst of the Chaotic storms our children put us through in life means? I've been spending a great deal of time with everything going on right now trying to figure this one out. Most of what is going on in the world around us just doesn't really make a lot of sense.

Being a Dad in the Simple Things

Hello and Welcome Home!

Being a dad is just crazy sometimes, isn't it? I know this month has been crazy for our family. So much going on that offers little time for pleasantries such as writing a biweekly blog post. It has been a month since my last confession, wait, that's not what these are about.

A Special Christmas

Hello and Welcome Home!

My eldest child absolutely loves Christmas! Some of her favorite things are in a book we wrote together, but this chapter is my favorite so I wanted to share...

Being a Dad: Holiday Joys?

Hello and Welcome Home!

Being a Dad during the holidays can be stressful. There are many things that come into play. Questions that we, as dads, have to answer for ourselves, and for our loved ones, weigh on our hearts and minds. What should we get for those that we care about? How much time do we actually need to take off, if we can? Where should we spend the holidays, here, there, or somewhere else?

Being a Dad: Breaking Through Distractions

Hello and Welcome Home!

My Oh My, I've been slacking off, haven't I? Life has been a bit distracting lately and sometimes time just gets away from us. Being a dad though, comes with learning the ability to push those distractions out. It's hard to know when a distraction is getting the best of you, isn't it? I mean that's really the purpose of distractions right, they distract.

Being a Dad: Life Lessons or Memoirs

Hello and Welcome Home!

Being a Dad presents many interesting opportunities in life. Some are usually really fun and others, well, let's just say, could be left out of our memoirs. Every opportunity, whether we put it in our memoirs or not can be a teachable opportunity. I get it, your thinking, this sounds familiar.    It may well indeed, but I write what I'm learning, and well, I'm learning every day.

Being A Dad: At Work? Really?

Hello and Welcome Home!

Do you ever wonder if your daily routine at work can help make being a dad any easier? Have you ever wondered if your work life can teach you things about your family life? I know it seems illogical, but sometimes wondering about these things can impact your family life in ways you may not even realize.

Being a Dad, What is our Motivation?

Hello and Welcome Home!

Have you ever struggled with the chaos your children bring to your role of being a dad?  It can be daunting. The role of a dad can be one of the most challenging roles for any man. It isn't one of those things that come overnight, but it is a role that can be one of the most exciting and memory making.

As a father of three children under the age of six, my wife and I tend to have a lot of chaotic moments throughout the week. Our kids are very energetic, and they get bored very quickly. I am sure there are others that are in similar situations. This is part of the reason I am launching "A Working Dad."
